Researcher (pre- or postdoctoral) (m/f/d)

Department of Psychology

Within the group of Prof. Jonas Obleser at the Department of Psychology (Institut für Psychologie) we invite applications for a Researcher (part-time, 65%).

The position is placed at the Department of Psychology with a primary research focus in the group of Obleser (auditorycognition.com). The position is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). The project’s focus lies in a new longitudinal study on objective versus subjective outcomes in cochlear implantation, jointly with the Ear-, throat- and nose (ENT) clinic of the Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH). The project is suitable for either pursuing a Doctoral degree under the mentorship of Prof. Jonas Obleser, or for postdoctoral research.

Tasks:

  • Scientific research in the fields of cognitive neuroscience, psychology, audiology, or hearing technology.

Requirements:

Applicants must have

  • a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, neuroscience, audiology, hearing technology, or a related field.
  • demonstrable methodological and data analysis skills
  • Solid command of English (German is an advantage, but not essential)
  • Interest in recording behavioural and electrophysiological data in listeners with hearing loss

Applicants should have

  • Prior experience in human cognitive neuroscience methods (e.g., EEG, MEG, and/or fMRI, brain stimulation, computational modelling, or related)
  • Strong research interests that fit into the larger framework of the Obleser lab
  • Prior experience in scientific publishing
  • Interest to work in and contribute to a diverse scientific team
