Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue further academic qualifications outside of their work responsibilities.
The position is funded by the Hector Fellow Academy (HFA). The project will address plasticity of the visual neural system in humans in the context of visual perceptual learning, both in healthy and visually impaired individuals. The project will be conducted partially with a cooperating institute in India. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the project including ethics, set-up, supervision of research assistants, coordination, data curation, data analysis, publication, reporting.
A university degree in a relevant field, plus doctorate.
The candidate is expected to have a Master degree or higher with a very good final grade in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, or a related field. The successful candidate has a comprehensive background in experimental Psychology with documented experience in vision science. Moreover, familiarity with at least one neuroscience method, very high English proficiency, a thorough education in statistics, and good programming skills are required. Experience with research in children or in special groups (such as visual impaired populations) are of advantage. We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working as part of a team in our lab and office space, both in Germany and India.
