Instructional Designer (m/w/d)

Du willst Lehre neu denken und in einem engagierten, interdisziplinären Team die Zukunft der UTN mitgestalten? Im Digital LEAD Lab in der UTN School of Students and Young Researchers (StaRs) unterstützt Du Lehrende beim Kursdesign und begleitest sie dabei, ihre Lehrveranstaltungen kompetenzorientiert, innovativ und wirkungsvoll weiterzuentwickeln. Du berätst bei der Konzeption von Kursen und Prüfungen, stärkst den sinnvollen Einsatz digitaler Formate und Technologien und bringst Deine Expertise in Workshops und Weiterbildungsangebote ein. Gleichzeitig wirkst Du an der Qualitätssicherung und strategischen Weiterentwicklung der digitalen Lehre mit – praxisnah, kollaborativ und mit Gestaltungsspielraum.

Die Stelle ist auf zwei Jahre befristet.

Aufgaben:

  • Didaktische Beratung und Begleitung von Lehrenden beim Design von Learning Experiences, die sich am UTN-Lehr-Lernkonzept orientieren
  • Didaktische und technische Beratung und Unterstützung von Lehrenden bei der Integration innovativer digitaler Lehr-Lernformate und -materialien
  • Konzeption und Durchführung von Fort- und Weiterbildungsangeboten für Lehrende
  • Unterstützung bei der strukturellen Weiterentwicklung digitaler Lehre

Profil:

Erforderlich:

  • Ein erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium auf Master Niveau im Bereich Bildungswissenschaften, Erziehungswissenschaft, Pädagogik, Educational Technology, Medienpädagogik, Instructional Design oder einem vergleichbaren Studiengang. Alternativ ein Masterabschluss in einem anderen Fachgebiet mit langjähriger einschlägiger Berufserfahrung, hierbei erfolgt, im Falle einer Einstellung, eine Eingruppierung in E 12 TV-L.
  • Expertise zu Theorien, Ansätzen und Praktiken der Gestaltung von Lehre und Lernen
  • Expertise im Themenfeld Digitalisierung in der Lehre und beim Lernen aus sozio-technisch-didaktischer Perspektive
  • Sehr gute Deutsch- oder Englischkenntnisse (mindestens C1-Niveau); in der zweiten Sprache ausreichende Kenntnisse für eine sichere Kommunikation im Arbeitsalltag sowie die Bereitschaft, diese kontinuierlich weiterzuentwickeln
  • Sehr gute Kommunikations- und Moderationskompetenz, eine strukturierte und selbstständige Arbeitsweise sowie ausgeprägte Teamfähigkeit

Wünschenswert:

  • Einschlägige Berufserfahrung im Bereich Instructional Design im Hochschulkontext, in der Beratung, Begleitung und Qualifizierung von Lehrenden oder vergleichbaren Zielgruppen sowie der Konzeption und Durchführung von Workshops oder Weiterbildungsangeboten
  • Expertise im oder großes Interesse am Themenfeld Lernen, Lehren und Prüfen mit KI und/oder der Erstellung audio-visueller Lehr-Lern-Medien für Lernen und Lehren (z.B. Erfahrung mit der Arbeit im Videostudio)
  • Auslandsaufenthalt oder Vorerfahrung in einem interkulturellen Umfeld

Instructional Designer (m/f/d)

At the Digital LEAD Lab in the UTN School of Students and Young Researchers (StaRs), you’ll support faculty in course design and guide them in further developing their courses to be competency-based, innovative, and effective. You’ll provide guidance on the design of courses and exams, promote the meaningful use of digital formats and technologies, and contribute your expertise to workshops and professional development programs. At the same time, you’ll play a role in quality assurance and the strategic development of digital teaching—in a practical, collaborative manner with creative freedom.

The position is a two-year fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing pedagogical guidance and support to faculty in designing learning experiences aligned with the UTN teaching and learning concept
  • Providing pedagogical and technical advice and support to faculty members in integrating innovative digital teaching and learning formats and materials
  • Designing and implementing professional development and continuing education programs for faculty
  • Supporting the structural development of digital teaching

Profile:

Required:

  • A successfully completed master’s degree in educational sciences, pedagogy, educational technology, media education, instructional design, or a comparable field of study. Alternatively, a master’s degree in another field with extensive relevant professional experience; in this case, upon hiring, the position will be classified as E 12 TV-L.
  • Expertise in theories, approaches, and practices related to the design of teaching and learning
  • Expertise in the field of digitalization in teaching and learning from a socio-technical-didactic perspective
  • Very good command of German or English (at least C1 level); in the second language, sufficient proficiency to communicate confidently in day-to-day work, as well as a willingness to continuously improve these skills
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, a structured and independent work style, and strong teamwork skills

Desirable:

  • Relevant professional experience in instructional design in a higher education context, including advising, supporting, and training faculty or comparable target groups, as well as designing and conducting workshops or continuing education programs
  • Expertise in or a strong interest in the field of learning, teaching, and assessment using AI and/or the creation of audiovisual teaching and learning media (e.g., experience working in a video studio)
  • Experience living abroad or prior experience in an intercultural environment

Benefits:

  • Attractive salary according to pay group E13 TV-L (for full-time employment, the gross salary starts at €4,629.74 gross, more details at: https://oeffentlicher-dienst.info/tv-l/allg/) with regular pay rises and an increasing salary in line with the collective agreement. If the required academic degree in the above-mentioned subjects is not held, the position will be classified in pay group E12 of the TV-L (starting at €4,310.90 gross) upon hiring.
