The Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) is involved in a wide range of activities in the field of sensor technology, sensor data transmission and processing, and data fusion. At least ten groups at our University are working on different aspects of the signal processing chain, from fundamental material development to high-level data integration. TUHH therefore strives to establish a research group of three people to promote cross-domain thinking, internal networking, and external visibility of these existing competencies. This research group will act as a nucleus to coordinate and develop joint applications from these existing competencies, as well as conducting its own research into system-level issues that bridge the gaps in our existing competency landscape. The group will strengthen the internal community through joint activities and help derive meaningful impacts in line with the strategic engineering goals of tackling climate change in a global context. The targeted activities are intended to generate outreach, whether on an international level, e.g. in relation to TUHH's role as the UN University Hub, or on a national level in Northern Germany, to foster and strengthen contact with local industrial partners and climate researchers.
