In order to fill a fixed-term position in full-time (39.83 hours/week = 100%) by July 01, 2026 or later, we are looking for a
Postdoctoral Researcher (m,f,x), 39,83 hrs/week (TVL E13)
Prof. Dr. Holger Dette's chair offers a broad research environment in the field of stochastics (see https://math.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/fakultaet/arbeitsbereiche/stochastik/gruppe-dette/).
Development of new statistical methods for functional data and spatiotemporal data.
Scope: full-time
Duration: fixed-term, 30.06.2028 (end of project)

Your tasks:
- Collaboration in research on mathematical statistics
- Collaboration in the new SFB TRR 391 “Spatio-temporal Statistics for the Transition of Energy and Transport”
- Implementation of statistical methods in software
- Possible participation in teaching at the Faculty of Mathematics (only if funding is not provided by third parties)
Your profile:
- We are looking for applicants with a degree in statistics or mathematics and very good knowledge of mathematical statistics.
- A completed doctorate would be desirable.
- Experience in teaching mathematics, especially to students of natural sciences, technical and economic subjects.
- The opportunity for further qualification is offered and is desirable.

Further information:
The position is salaried and based on the collective agreement of the Länder (TV-L). If the personal and collective agreement requirements are met, the employee will receive pay grade EG 13 TV-L.

The place of work is Ruhr University Bochum.
If the position is funded by third-party funds the employee has no teaching obligation.
