About us:

The chair of Computational Social Sciences focuses on the collection, processing, analysis, and dissemination of digital behavioral data, with the aim of investigating socially relevant questions using innovative methodological approaches. The chair is responsible for a module on machine learning and artificial intelligence, which introduces foundational and advanced ML and AI concepts with a particular emphasis on social science applications, including supervised and unsupervised learning, the use of generative AI models in the research process, and the societal challenges of AI systems.

We are looking for you:

Tutor for the course Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) (m/f/x)

in Munich

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Supporting the teaching staff in conducting and administering the exercises, including during practical sessions in Python and/or R (Thursday afternoons)
  • Be the contact person for students throughout the semester

Your qualifications:

  • An interest in empirical social research and statistics
  • Working knowledge of Python and/or R for integrating ML and AI workflows
  • Willingness to learn new topics and work processes
  • Reliability, accuracy, and the ability to work independently
  • Patience and commitment to help others in acquiring new skills
  • Very good English skills

Benefits:

  • A fixed-term contract starting from 1. 4. to 14. 7. 2026 with 6h/week (extensions are possible but not guaranteed)
