About us:

The Institute of Ethics, History, and Theory of Medicine at the Medical Faculty of LMU München, headed by Prof. Dr. Georg Marckmann, is an internationally connected institution for research and teaching in the field of ethics, history, and theory of medicine.

We are looking for you:

Research Associate (Post-Doc) in the field of ethics in medicine (m/f/d)

in Munich

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Independent development of an innovative research project in the field of medical ethics and preparation of a third-party funding application
  • Teaching five hours per week and supporting teaching coordination, in particular the preparation of exams and digital teaching/learning units
  • Active participation in joint meetings, research activities, and academic self-administration

Your qualifications:

  • Relevant professional background (e.g., medicine, philosophy, health sciences, public health, or related disciplines related to medical ethics)
  • Completed PhD in medical ethics or a closely related subject
  • Publications in scientific journals related to medical ethics (peer review)
  • Initial experience in independently designing research projects and acquiring third-party funding
  • Experience in the structured communication of knowledge, e.g., through lectures or courses
  • Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and openness to exchange across disciplinary boundaries
  • Sufficient knowledge of the German language
