Coordinator for the LIV Graduate Program in part-time (50%, m/f/x)
The Leibniz Institute of Virology (LIV) is an independent research institution for basic biomedical research. As a foundation under civil law and member of the Leibniz Association, the Institute holds a leading position both nationally and internationally. The LIV is located on the research campus in Hamburg-Eppendorf, in close proximity to the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), and at the Centre for Structural Systems Biology (CSSB) on the Hamburg-Bahrenfeld research campus.
As of the next possible date, the LIV is looking for a highly motivated, team- and service-oriented
Coordinator for the LIV Graduate Program in part-time (50%, m/f/x)
to effectively manage and support the further development of the LIV Graduate Program for doctoral candidates.
Your tasks
- Manage the application and recruitment process for PhD candidates, incl. preparing application materials for the admissions committee, organizing PhD recruitment days, and overseeing all hiring-related procedures.
- Advise PhD candidates throughout the program e.g., on admissions policies, the LIV Graduate Program, and individual progress.
- Plan and organize Graduate Program activities, including events, seminars, and workshops.
- Coordinate the PhD curriculum on infection biology, currently as an annual Summer School in collaboration with the partners from the Leibniz Center Infection ()
- Contribute to the ongoing development and strategic enhancement of the LIV Graduate Program.
- Prepare and coordinate applications for third-party funding to support and advance the LIV Graduate Program.
Your profile
- University degree in natural sciences or similar area and/or in the field of scientific management.
- Extensive experience in project management and the coordination of scientific work.
- Experience in writing and coordinating grant applications and proposals is a plus.
- Independent, conscientious and structured working style.
- Commitment and quick comprehension.
- Teamwork qualities with intercultural skills.
- Highly motivated, proactive, self-reliant, assertive, and excellent time management skills.
- Very good communication and writing skills both in English and German.
