The Leibniz Institute on Aging - Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI) in Jena is a federal and state government-funded research institute and member of the Leibniz Association (Leibniz-Gemeinschaft). FLI conducts internationally recognized, high-impact research on the biology of aging at the molecular, cellular, and systems levels. Scientists from around 40 countries investigate the mechanisms of aging to uncover its root causes and pave the way for strategies that promote healthy aging. ()

We are seeking a motivated Technical Assistant (m/f/x) for the new Emmy Noether Research group of Dr. Orsolya Leidecker, starting in January 2027 in Jena. The successful candidate will support the establishment of the laboratory and become part of an international research team.

Arbeitsvorbereiter/in -Laborant/in (m/w/d)

The Leidecker Lab investigates the molecular mechanisms and biochemical processes governing ADP-ribosylation and ubiquitination in signaling pathways related to aging, the DNA damage- and interferon response. Our multidisciplinary approach integrates advanced proteomics, cell culture, and imaging with classical biochemical techniques, including Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, recombinant protein expression, and in vitro modification assays. In addition, we use the mouse as a primary in vivo model system.

Your tasks:

• Organisation der Serviceeinheit und der Medienküche
• Sammlung und Verteilung von Laborgütern
• Säubern und Sterilisieren von Laborglas und anderen Materialien
• Inaktivierung und Entsorgung von Biostoffen und Einwegmaterial
• Herstellung und Autoklavieren von Nährmedien, Lösungen und Puffern
• Bedienung von Autoklaven, Spülgeräten, pH-Meter
• Beschaffung von Verbrauchsmaterial
• Wartung und Instandhaltung der Maschinen und Geräte

Your qualifications:

• Berufsausbildung oder Berufserfahrung im Laborantenbereich, als Chemikant oder Chemiefacharbeiter ist erwünscht
• Sie beherrschen die Grundlagen zum Herstellen von Medien und Lösungen und haben Erfahrungen im Umgang mit und der Entsorgung von Chemikalien und Biostoffen
• Sie sind flexibel, engagiert, kommunikativ und teamfähig und körperlich belastbar
• Sie haben Berufserfahrung im Forschungsbereich oder auf ähnlichem Gebiet, dann bewerben Sie sich!

• The contract conditions and the salary will be according to the collective labour agreement for public service employees of the federal states of Germany (TV-L E9b), a long-term working relationship is planned
