W2- Professorship (m/f/d) Business Administration, in particular Digital Sales and Marketing

Your Profile

You are able to represent the field of business administration with a focus on digital sales and marketing in teaching and applied research, and to teach compulsory and advanced modules at bachelor's and master's level in a well-founded, practical and didactically high-quality manner.

Your required qualifications:

  • Completed university degree and special aptitude for academic work, usually demonstrated by a qualified doctorate.
  • Ability to teach courses in English.
  • Proven professional experience of several years outside the university sector in digital marketing & sales in the B2B sector. Practical experience in at least two of the following areas is expected:
  • Digital marketing
  • Digital sales management
  • CRM & customer experience
  • AI-based sales and marketing solutions
  • Experience with digital tools and methods, e.g. CRM systems, analytics and automation tools, social media platforms, AI-based marketing and sales tools.
  • Ability to conduct application-oriented research with a focus on digitalisation in marketing/sales, sales analytics or customer journey.

Desirable additional skills:

  • Management experience and budget responsibility
  • International professional experience
  • Experience in acquiring and implementing third-party funded projects
  • Experience with project-based teaching, business games or blended learning formats
  • Experience in designing and implementing research projects
  • Professional network for setting up cooperation projects with companies
  • Experience in supervising project work or final theses

The subject areas are to be represented both in teaching and in applied research. We expect very good didactical skills as well as the willingness to participate in the exchange with our international partner universities and to offer courses in English. In addition, we expect committed participation in teaching basic subjects and possibly giving lectures in related subject areas.

We expect the applicant to integrate themselves well into the existing team both professionally and personally, to get involved in the academic self-administration of our university and to enjoy imparting knowledge from their own professional experience to the students.

The university has a large number of collaborations with universities and research institutions such as Max Planck Institutes and Fraunhofer Institutes as well as companies. Intensifying and expanding these collaborations is highly desired.

Active participation in the university’s research activities is desired. In this context, we strive to increase third-party funding and the number of cooperative doctorates.

We advocate a supervision concept that requires a high level of presence of the teaching staff at the university campus.

German language skills (at least level C1) and English language skills are required. Teaching language is mainly German.

The hiring requirements for professors are regulated in Sec 49 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.
