With the denomination in Communication and Moderation, Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences bridges the gap between the academic discipline and interdisciplinary practice.
The denomination includes the following areas:
• technology and science communication
• conflict management and crisis communication
• motivation, leadership, and coaching
We are looking for an academically proven, dedicated, and experienced individual with a completed university degree in communication studies, psychology, or a related discipline; alternatively, a university degree in business, engineering, or the natural sciences combined with extensive, relevant practical experience in the field of the professorship. You demonstrate the special ability for academic work through a qualified doctorate. Your publications prove outstanding subject-matter expertise. You have at least five years of professional experience after graduating from university, including at least three years outside the university sector.
Knowledge and experience in several of the following areas are desirable:
• internal and external team and corporate communication
• intercultural and transdisciplinary communication
• transformation communication
• cross-media communication
• AI Literacy.
Your Responsibilities
The fields of expertise are to be represented in both teaching and applied research. We naturally expect very good didactic skills and a high level of commitment to teaching, as well as the willingness to participate in exchanges with our international partner universities and to offer courses in both German and English. Furthermore, we expect active participation in teaching fundamental subjects, advanced courses, and special lectures on current research topics and, if applicable, lectures in related academic fields as well as part-time/professional degree programs.
In addition, you will actively contribute to the establishment, expansion, and further development of teaching and study programs. We expect the candidate to integrate well into the existing team both professionally and personally, to engage in our university's academic self-governance, and to enjoy sharing knowledge from their own professional experience with students.

The employment requirements for professors are regulated in § 49 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate. As this is a part-time position (0.5 FTE), it does not carry civil servant status.

The position is available starting September 1, 2027, at the Kaiserslautern campus of Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences, within the Department of Applied Engineering. This is a part-time position (0.5 FTE).
Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences is a research-intensive university in the fields of computer science, technology, business, design, and health.
