We are a young and dynamic technical university in the heart of Lusatia, developing practical, science-based solutions to address major future challenges and global transformation processes.
The focus of the Chair of Antennas and High-Frequency System-Integration is on the development and implementation of new methods for efficient high-frequency modeling, measurement-based characterization and optimization of antennas, waveguides, RF packages and front-end modules up to terahertz frequencies, taking into account the impact of manufacturing technologies and processes.
Due to the Chairs's affiliation with Fraunhofer Institute IZM (FhG-IZM), combining this position with a 40% research associate position at IZM is possible and intended.
In the Faculty of MINT - Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical and Information Engineering, the following position is to be filled in the Chair of Antenna and High-Frequency System Integration:
Academic Staff Member (m/f/d) (Qualification Position)
Your area of responsibility includes in particular:
Teaching:
- Participation in fulfilling the teaching tasks of the Chair according to content and methodological guidelines, currently including the Electrical Engineering program, to impart specialized knowledge, practical skills, and instruction in the application of scientific methods
- Preparation, execution, and evaluation of oral and written examinations; participation in supervising student study and final theses.
- Contribution to the development of the curriculum and the establishment of new international and German-language study programs.
- Conducting in-depth research in preparation for a doctoral dissertation or habilitation thesis, aimed at producing additional scholarly output, for at least one-third of the respective working hours.
Research:
- Scientific work within the research focus areas of the Chair, particularly participation in the preparation and execution of third-party funded projects (BMFTR, BMWK, EU, DFG, industry projects)
- Presentation and publication activities related to research topics
- Preparation of contributions for reports and presentations
- Other research-related administrative tasks
Your requirements profile:
- Completed academic university degree (Master's / university diploma / equivalent) in a relevant field (Electrical Engineering with a focus on High-Frequency Engineering or Physics, or comparable).
- Candidates seeking habilitation must hold a relevant doctoral degree
Desired knowledge and/or experience:
- Knowledge in the area of antenna design.
- Very good German or English skills, both spoken and written
Personal skills:
- Ability to work scientifically, teamwork skills, communication skills, independent and structured working style
