We are a young and dynamic technical university in the heart of Lusatia, developing practical, science-based solutions to address major future challenges and global transformation processes.
The successful candidate will join the Emmy Noether Junior Research Group ANTIRESIST, which investigates the impact of antibiotics on bacterial communities within soil-plant systems. This subproject will focus particularly on spatially resolving the effects of antibiotics and their degradation in soil-plant systems. An extension of the project focus to include additional influencing variables or the investigation of cascading effects is highly desired. Close cooperation with the project staff in Leipzig, including regular joint meetings, will facilitate knowledge exchange and networking within the project.
The following positions are available in the field of microbiology at the Faculty of Environment and Natural Sciences as part of a third-party funded project.
The pursuit of a doctoral degree in this subject area is strongly encouraged.
Subject to the continued availability of project funding, the position is expected to run until approximately November 30, 2029.
• Conducting research within the core research areas of the group, in particular collaboration in the preparation and implementation of third-party funded projects, specifically within the project: “Antibiotics at the Soil–Plant Nexus: High-Resolution Insights into Bacterial Biotransformation, Effects on Bacterial Metabolic Activities, and Consequences for Plant Health (ANTIRESIST)”
• Presentation and publication activities related to the research topic
• Preparation of contributions for reports and presentations
• Participation in and presentation of results at national and international conferences
• Involvement in the organization of project-specific workshops
• Additional research-related administrative tasks
