The HPI is one of the leading university-based computer science institutes. Our goal is to strengthen Europe’s digital sovereignty through excellent research and practice-oriented teaching in computer science.
During the coming years, the top-ranked Hasso-Plattner-Institut aims to grow into one of Europe’s leading university level institutions for computer science with our research clusters focused on Data and AI, Digital Health, Foundations, Security, Systems as well as Business and Society. With our work, we are helping Europe to actively and self-determinedly shape the digital future.
The Hasso-Plattner-Institut strive to offer an innovative and personalized learning experience to our our almost 400 bachelor, 600 master and more than 200 PhD students as well as a collaborative and inclusive working environment for our faculty and staff.

In unseren Research Clustern "Systems", "Data and AI", "Foundations", "Digital Health", "Security" und "Business and Society" arbeiten Forschende aus mehreren Fachgebieten gemeinsam an Fragen, die zur Lösung gesellschaftlicher Herausforderung beitragen. Die Digital-Engineering-Fakultät der Universität Potsdam und des HPI bietet ein deutschlandweit einmaliges ingenieurwissenschaftliches Informatikstudium an.
