Are you enthusiastic about visualizing data? Are you enthusiastic about computer graphics and data science? Would you like to contribute to advancing computer methods and open-source research software for improving climate research? In the Regional Computing Centre’s Visual Data Analysis group, we are developing and investigating novel visualization methods to improve data analysis and communication in the atmospheric and climate sciences.
The objective of this position is programming support for the development of novel visual data analysis techniques for application in the climate sciences. The methods will enable interactive visual analysis of large and complex spatio-temporal datasets from climate simulations and observations with our open-source visualization framework “Met.3D”.
You will work at the exciting intersection of computer science and climate science in an interdisciplinary environment within the Cluster of Excellence “Climate, Climatic Change, and Society” (CLICCS). You will closely collaborate with CLICCS project partners to facilitate future climate research. At the Regional Computing Centre, you will be integrated into the Visual Data Analysis Group and closely collaborate with other group members.
