Full timeAbout usAre you a seasoned chemist with a strong interest in shaping the chemical industry’s future through the generation of new recycling and renewable feedstock innovations? Join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in spearheading the development of our cutting-edge research program. As a Scientific Coordinator (m/f/d), you will play a crucial role in shaping and building the CTC’s research program focusing on recycling technologies and the sustainable use of renewable feedstocks. You will leverage your expertise to review, analyze, and synthesize entire research programs at the CTC. You and your team members will be located approx. 30 min from Leipzig and Halle (Saale) in Leuna.Your tasks and qualificationsYour Key Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with other thematic area leaders to co-develop and lead the strategic research program in recycling and renewable feedstocks, aligning with the CTC’s goals and vision.

Conduct comprehensive reviews and analyses of current research trends, emerging technologies, and scientific literature in recycling, renewable feedstocks, and related fields.

Synthesize findings from various research disciplines to formulate a cohesive and innovative research agenda, integrating expertise from organic and inorganic synthesis, catalysis, polymer and material sciences.

Guide and mentor multidisciplinary research teams in designing, evaluating and presenting concepts for strategic research programs related to recycling processes, renewable feedstock conversion, and the development of sustainable materials.

Oversee the development of novel chemical processes, catalytic systems, and innovative materials that contribute to a circular economy and reduce environmental impacts of production processes.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including industry partners, funding agencies, and academic institutions, to foster a collaborative ecosystem and amplify the impact of the research program.

Foster a culture of excellence, scientific rigor, and innovation within the research teams, nurturing the professional growth of team members.

Drive not only the chances of publication of research outcomes in high-impact journals, but also play a role in the development of the intellectual property strategy of the CTC.

Your Profile

Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with substantial experience and a demonstrated track record of impactful contributions to recycling, renewable feedstocks, or related research areas such as synthesis, catalysis, polymer chemistry or material science.

Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing complex research fields, extracting key insights and trends to inform strategic research directions.

Strong organizational skills to effectively lead and manage multidisciplinary research teams, ensuring a balance between attention to detail and a holistic perspective.

Proven ability to conceive and drive innovative research initiatives, translate concepts into practical research plans with corresponding professional networks of scientist.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders and to mentor research teams.
