For over ten years, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in the Lower Rhine region of Germany has provided an innovative, interdisciplinary and international education to young minds from around the world. You should represent the field of digital media design – in particular interactive media-based systems – in teaching and research and have relevant competences in this field

Your teaching focus will be on design, technological and methodological content for the development, design and implementation of products, processes and services in the field of digital media, especially interactive media-based systems

You will be responsible for teaching the English-taught degree programmes “Information and Communication Design B.A.” and “Design and Interaction M.A.” as well as related subjects

The position requires close cooperation with the two design degree programmes as well as the neighbouring professorships and degree programmes of the Faculty of Communication and Environment

Supervising of bachelor’s and master’s theses

Advancing the subject area in a national and international context as well as establishing new teaching and research cooperation to this end

Supervising and continuing to develop existing laboratory and teaching environments

Taking an active role in the self-administration and in further development of our bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes in design

A completed university degree in a relevant field

Excellent academic and research skills, usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctoral dissertation. Candi-dates for design professorships are eligible for hire if they can demonstrate exceptional artistic aptitude and design achievements as well. Design achievements generally means a number of noteworthy achievements over the course of at least five years of work as an artist, with at least three of these years occurring outside of academia

At least five years of relevant career experience in the applied use or development of research findings and methodology; at least three of these years must have been outside of higher education
