You are a distinguished personality with above-average knowledge and sound scientific and practical experience in the fields of construction management and digital methods (e.g. BIM, VDC).

You have a degree in civil engineering (master's, diploma) and a doctorate in construction operations or construction informatics respectively construction or project management.

You also have relevant non-university work experience in a responsible position. Expertise in costing, scheduling or work preparation of construction projects and in construction or project management is required. Experience in the application of digital methods in construction management or project control must be demonstrated. Knowledge of BIM methodology and implementing digital methods or IT solutions is desired.

You are able to cover the teaching area of digital methods in construction management in the bachelor's and master's degree program in civil engineering with courses including 5D modeling, work preparation (scheduling/calculation), GIS/engineering geodesy, and projects in digital design and construction. Furthermore, we expect commitment to the further development of our courses, e.g. with regard to interdisciplinary projects for the application of IT methods in civil engineering.

You are well connected in the industry and aim to actively participate in the research activities of the university (e.g. digitalization in the department, sustainability in the research focus STAMP).

At the same time, a professorship "Construction Informatics and Engineering Mathematics" (reference BG 2023/12) is advertised as a half-time position. The subject areas are to be represented both in teaching (including professional development) and in applied research. We expect very good didactical skills as well as the willingness to participate in the exchange with our international partner universities and to offer courses in English. In addition, we expect committed participation in teaching basic subjects and possibly giving lectures in related subject areas.We expect the applicant to integrate themselves well into the existing team both professionally and personally, to get involved in the academic self-administration of our university and to enjoy imparting knowledge from their own professional experience to the students.The university has a large number of collaborations with universities and research institutions such as Max Planck Institutes and Fraunhofer Institutes as well as companies. Intensifying and expanding these collaborations is highly desired.Active participation in the university’s research activities is desired.
