Since it was founded in 1991, Potsdam University of Applied Sciences (FHP) has become an important participant in the knowledge landscape of the region. The STADT | BAU | KULTUR Faculty is seeking to fill the following post on the BA / MA programmes in Conservation & Restoration for the 2024 summer semester:
on a 50% FTE basis.
The professorship in Specialist Planning in Conservation and Restoration is a linking and overarching position within the wood, stone and mural conservation specialisations of the Conservation and Restoration degree programme and provides support above all in the area of the degree programme’s focus, “Restoration in the Conservation of Historical Monuments”. The professorship is primarily located within the area of Specialist Planning in the Master’s study programme; however, it is also intended that the post holder will provide initial content- related impulses in the Bachelor’s programme too. The supervision of final theses is also part of the scope of duties.
Your tasks
Specialist planning in conservation and restoration deals with the following points, among others: legal principles on the basis of the HOAI (Fee Structure for Architectural and Engineering Services), production of preparatory reports and sample areas for conservation and restoration, drawing up of priced specifications and other tender documents, awarding of contracts, development of funding opportunities and the submission of funding applications, awarding of contracts, specialist construction management, acceptance and auditing of accounts, follow-up care via monitoring and more. The role’s teaching responsibilities will primarily be in the Master’s degree programme including both theoretical input and practical projects, preferably based on the candidate’s professional practice and mainly in the three material specialisations of the degree programme. Good cooperation and coordination with the respective subject professors are essential in this regard.
